Introducing The Therapy Quarters Supervision Course

2023-08-08T12:10:49+00:00August 8, 2023|Therapy Quarters Blog Posts|

The Therapy Quarters is now able to offer a unique Supervision Training Course providing 42 CPD points from October 2023. The course has been developed by Karen Harrison and is underpinned by the BACP Supervision Competences and was developed in order to meet the BACP training Supervision Training Curriculum and is accredited by the CPD standards office. Whilst cost of living crisis continues, many experienced practitioners have felt concerned about continued private practice. One thing we all have to continue is ‘Supervision’, maybe it feels the right time for you to train as a supervisor? Please see the attached leaflet and contact ‘Jaye’ at The Therapy Quarters if you are interested or have any questions as to whether you meet the criteria.

We will explore how we foster connections and what barriers can get in the way of building personal and professional relationships. Our intention for December was to have a session on breathwork. Unfortunately, we have needed to put this back to the New Year and will let you know as soon as we have a new date. If you are new to The Coffee Quarters, please click here to access our enquiry form so you can request an invite to our Zoom session. We look forward to welcoming you on Thursday 1st December at 19:30

The Therapy Quarters are really pleased to introduce you to two new members of our team, Debbi and Rachel, who will be working with children and young people needing support with issues such as anxiety, depression, identity, neurodivergence, and trauma. We’ve taken this opportunity to ask them a few questions so you can get to know them. If there is anything else you would like to ask, then please feel free to email Jaye: referrals@thetherapyquarters.co.uk and she’ll happily pose them and post an updated blog post. We hope that this helps you to feel more connected to Debbi and Rachel and ease any potential anxieties you, or your children have, in accessing support. What made you decide to become a therapist?  Debbi - I've been involved in helping people through nursing over the past 23 years. This has been in learning disability and adult mental health services. I was drawn to specialise as a psychological therapist because of wanting to [...]

An Interview with… Steve Mills

Humans are naturally inquisitive, so being in therapy can often throw up some anxiety about our therapist; who really are they anyway? How do they cope when things get tough? What brought them to this point in their life? The therapeutic relationship is one like no other. One where the focus is on us, the client. We explore ourselves, how we connect with others and the world around us, we look at our past and our hopes for the future and often, our inquiries of our therapist go unanswered in favour of why it’s important for us to ask the question. Here we will introduce you to some of our team so you can get to know a little more about them without it impacting your sessions where their focus is, rightly, on you. We asked our therapists 10 questions and will publish their answers in a series of blog posts. So, grab a cuppa (and a biscuit or two) [...]
