Counselling & Supervision Certificate

Training to become a clinical supervisor can be one of the natural progression steps for counsellors/psychotherapists who wish to further develop both professionally and personally.

Our Counselling & Supervision Certificate supports you to trust your achieved experience and professional knowledge alongside your awareness and insight, helping you to further develop your skills and integrity through offering supervision to others.

EMDR Taster Day

Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy is recommended for the treatment of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) by the National Institute for Clinical Excellence (NICE) and the World Health Organisation (WHO).

EMDR helps people recover from difficulties triggered by traumatic episodes in their lives. It is more commonly known for treating PTSD but can also help with a wide range of mental health conditions. This Taster Day introduces attendees to the basics of EMDR Therapy. You will gain an insight into whether you would like to progress to a full Accredited training programme. Practitioners will be introduced to all phases of EMDR treatment, specifically phase 2 and how this can be integrated into current practice.

Please Note: This taster day does not qualify participants to practice EMDR therapy.

Transitioning To A Private Practitioner

Setting up as a private practitioner can celebrate a milestone in a practitioner’s career. Whilst private practice can carry its many benefits, it also brings hard work, responsibility and liabilities.

For most practitioners, this can feel overwhelming to consider setting up alone. Private practice allows practitioners to work autonomously, managing their own time and caseload. In this workshop, Karen Harrison shares over 20 years of her experience, along with true reflections, amusing tales and insight about marketing. Karen explores topics such as advertising, increasing your caseload and explores the challenge of balancing you, your client and your practice.

Karen’s practice developed into establishing a therapy centre during the Covid pandemic (2020) which has grown into a centre offering the following services:

  • Student Placement Opportunities
  • Trauma EMDR therapy, Counselling, CBT, Couples Counselling, NLP, Supervision and Training
  • A mobile service offering therapy to individuals who are unable to leave their homes
  • Low cost therapy to individuals struggling due to financial circumstances
  • Self Help Section
  • Monthly groups to limit isolation for other practitioners
  • CPD Courses
